Dear Eduardo Napodano,
The m/y… was built at the Amsterdam Shipyard G. de Vries Lentsch, establised in 1917 by my uncle G. de Vries Lentsch Snr.
The type of yacht has been built in length’s from 19-22 M in the years 1935 – 1949. M/y… should be one of the last yachts of this type as delivered by by uncle in sept 1948. This yacht was also classed under LLoyd’s 100 A1.+LMC. It was a great succes to the Amstrdam Shipyard to project this type as serial built at the time. The design was original inspired by the at the time famous designer Norman Hart of London. He introduced the large window/hull idea.
Some sisterships of m/y …still sail in France/Italy. (see enclosed j.p.g).
There exist no clients club of de Vries Lentsch Yachts. As you noticed there were more de Vries Lentsch Yard’s under the same name. The oldest and original Yard, establised by my great-grandfather in 1878 was G. de Vries Lentsch “Shipyard Het Fort”
This yard was closed in 1975, the other A’dam Shipyard in 1968. As I am actual the only (living) de VL active in the yachting business (as yacht designer and yacht consultant) , we remain the contact for information to owners of former de Vries Lentsch Yachts, as delivered at one of the de VL Yards.
